President of Tatarstan receives the head of the World Muslim Communities Council

His Excellency President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, received HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, The head of the World Muslim Communities Council.

The President of Tatarstan has welcomed at the beginning of the meeting the visit of Dr. Al-Nuaimi to the capital city of Tatarstan, Kazan, hoping this visit to foster cooperation relations between both sides.

They discussed during the meeting ways of consolidating the values of tolerance, coexistence and peace between Muslim societies in general and Tatarstan Muslims in particular.

The World Muslim Communities Council is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and has 600 members in 140 countries around the word. Its secretariat consists of 17 members representing Muslim communities in non-Muslim countries all over the world.

The Council aims at raising the role of Muslim societies and their members in the development of their states and the move towards a positive integration of the Muslim communities in their own countries, as well as to correct the stereotypical image of Islam and Muslim societies.
