The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) is participating in the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair, which commences today in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, bringing together leading publishing houses, cultural institutions, and academic entities from across the globe.

Through its participation in one of the world’s foremost cultural gatherings, TWMCC reaffirms its commitment to advancing civilizational dialogue, strengthening cultural and intellectual exchange, and promoting the principles of coexistence, mutual understanding, and constructive engagement among diverse communities. The Council’s presence at the fair also provides an opportunity to showcase its global mission and its wide-ranging intellectual and cultural initiatives.

At its pavilion, TWMCC will present a distinguished collection of its scholarly and intellectual publications translated into the Chinese language. These works address contemporary cultural and intellectual themes and serve as a bridge for dialogue and the exchange of knowledge between civilizations, reflecting the Council’s efforts to promote human solidarity, cooperation, and the development of more inclusive, cohesive, and forward-looking societies.

As part of its programme, the Council will host a thought-provoking seminar titled “Community Leadership and the Formation of Cultural Identity: From Preserving Heritage to Engaging with Contemporary Realities.” The seminar will bring together prominent academics and specialists to examine the evolving role of community leadership in preserving cultural identity while embracing modern developments. Discussions will explore innovative approaches to transforming heritage preservation from traditional practices into dynamic forms of meaningful interaction with contemporary social and cultural changes, ultimately reinforcing social cohesion and the values of openness and coexistence.

In addition, TWMCC will conduct a series of meetings with representatives of international publishing houses, cultural organizations, and academic institutions to explore avenues for collaboration, exchange expertise and insights, and expand strategic cultural partnerships that further enhance the Council’s global outreach.

The 32nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair is being held from 17 to 21 June 2026 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, attracting thousands of publishers and professionals from the publishing, cultural, and knowledge sectors worldwide.

This year’s selection of the United Arab Emirates as the Guest of Honour highlights the deep-rooted cultural and strategic ties between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China, while underscoring the UAE’s growing influence on the global cultural landscape and its continued role in fostering intercultural dialogue and strengthening bridges of human and intellectual exchange.

Recognized as one of the world’s most significant events dedicated to the publishing industry, the Beijing International Book Fair serves as a leading international platform for publishers, thinkers, and cultural stakeholders to exchange expertise, forge new partnerships, and explore the future of knowledge, publishing, and creative industries.
