TWMCC Holds "Islamic Faith and Combating Racism" Online Lecture
- 2025-Dec-04
The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) held an online lecture on Wednesday, titled "Islamic Faith and Combating Racism". The session was delivered by Sheikh Khalil Abdulwahab, Imam of the New Mosque in the Republic of Guyana in South America.
During the session, Sheikh Khalil reflected on the many blessings Allah grants to people, emphasizing that one of the greatest is the ability to learn the Qur’an and pass its teachings on to others. He urged listeners to use these blessings in acts of goodness, worship, and sincere devotion to God.
He also drew from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions, noting that their examples offer powerful lessons in character, patience, and sincerity. Sheikh Khalil also underscored the need to purify one’s intentions and strive for God’s pleasure alone, as sincerity is what ultimately shapes a person’s fate in the Day of Judgment.
“A true believer works for inner contentment, not for praise or reward,” he said. “Righteous deeds are what God requires from His servants.”
He referenced the Qur’anic verse:
“So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone.”, explaining that the verse encapsulates the meaning of sincerity, honesty, and pure monotheism.
Through its programs, lectures, and events, TWMCC continues to promote the values of dialogue, tolerance, and moderation, while reinforcing respect for religious and cultural diversity principles that uphold human dignity and strengthen nurture a sense of belonging.
