TWMCC Participates in "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue" in Manama

The World Muslim Communities Council participated in the activities of the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue", held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, scheduled for 3rd and 4th November in Bahrain.


Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders; His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and several symbols, leaders and representatives of religions and cultures around the world attended the forum.


The global forum is organised by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the Muslim Council of Elders, within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness and strategic direction to build bridges of dialogue between leaders of religions and sects and symbols of thought, culture and media. It also comes in permanent cooperation with Al-Azhar, the Catholic Church, the Muslim Council of Elders, and several international institutions concerned with humanistic and civilized discussion on peaceful coexistence.


The Bahrain Dialogue Forum will begin its activities with an opening session on the importance of interfaith dialogue in the presence of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King of Bahrain; Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs; Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, President Republic of Tatarstan; HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in UAE; His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople in the Republic of Turkey; Ambassador Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; and Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.


The main session of the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue will be held under the title "Experiences of Promoting Global Coexistence and Human Fraternity", while the second will be held under the title "Peaceful Coexistence".  


"Role of Religious Men and Scholars in Addressing the Challenges of the Era: Climate Change and the Global Food Crisis” is the title of the third session for the first day.
