  • 2022-Oct-24

The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) organized Sunday, October 23, 2022, a virtual lecture by Professor Shajahan Khan, Vice Chancellor of the Asian University in Bangladesh, entitled "Education: Its Essence, Exploration, and Extent".

Prof. Shahjahan Khan said that it is very important to get to know ourselves and others and to distinguish between right and wrong; stressing that our religion calls us to learn, especially since the first word revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is “Read”, in a clear call from Allah to Muslims to read.

Prof. Shahjahan Khan added that the infidels at the time of the Prophet were ransomed by teaching Muslims to read and write, which confirms the importance of education and knowledge.

"Muslims must constantly search for knowledge to rise among nations", he noted; pointing out that knowledge is power, and if you know, you have the power that leads you to a better life.

The Vice Chancellor of the Asian University in Bangladesh stressed the need to search for knowledge and have leaders in various fields of knowledge to be the best creation of Allah. He stressed that the whole world seeks knowledge and that if you know, you will have a large presence in the world.

It is noteworthy that the World Muslim Communities Council is an international non-governmental organisation that was established on 8 May, 2018, and based in Abu Dhabi and includes more than 900 Islamic organisations and institutions from 142 countries. It is considered a house of expertise for rationalising organisations and associations operating in Muslim communities, renewing their thinking, improving their performance, and coordinating among them.
