Sheikh Mehadjri Ziane: Ramadan Qualifies Us to Rank of Piety*

The World Muslim Communities Council organized, on Monday, April 11, 2022, a lecture entitled "Ramadan Whiffs", during which Sheikh Mehadjri Ziane, President of the European Organization of Islamic Centers, Switzerland, spoke via the social media pages of the Council.

 

  Sheikh Mehadjri said that Ramadan is a special month, during which Allah revealed the Qur’an, and the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, told us that in it the gates of Paradise are opened while the gates of Hell are closed.


  Ziane added that fasting in Ramadan forgives one's sins, so we have to take advantage of this blessed month.


  The head of the European Organization of Islamic Centers in Switzerland explained that some prepare for Ramadan by preparing while forgot to prepare for the psychological and spiritual aspects, pointing that Muslims must compete to do good deeds, abandon sins, and read the Noble Qur’an.


  He stressed that fasting qualifies a person to a rank of piety that requires us to stay away from sins.


  Ziane explained that mosques in Europe open their doors during Ramadan to feed the fasting people, stressing the need to read the Holy Quran during Ramadan, and to implement the orders of Allah Almighty to reap the good deeds.
