The World Muslim Communities Council Statement on Mawlid al-Nabi al-Sharif

The World Muslim Communities Council extends to all Muslims the best congratulations and blessings on the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabi al-Sharif, asking Allah to make it a year of health, goodness, peace, love, and tolerance for all mankind. 

 On this honorable and blessing occasion, the World Muslim Communities Council calls for adoption of the Prophet’s approach and taking his sublime good manners into account that the Qur’an has described: {And indeed, you are of a great moral character}, which will be the best arms to confront the offenders of Islam and Muslims.

 The Council calls upon all Muslims, which has been distinguished by charity, to act according to the Sunnah, by affirming the principles of mercy, and spreading the values ​​of moderation, dialogue, belonging to the homelands, uprooting religious intolerance, hatred, islamophobia and antisemitism. The statement calls also to respect particularities of Muslim communities in a way that preserves human dignity, respecting his belief and religious symbols, and not to confuse it with freedom of expression, as the (Covid 19) pandemic has shown us that all world needs to cooperate. 

 The World Muslim Communities Council also renews its call on the international community to unite efforts and take the necessary measures to stop waves of hate speech around the world, and insulting religious symbols. The Council is calling for the criminalization of hostility against otherby by activating the United Nations Resolution 65/224, issued on April 11, 2011, which criminalizes defamation of religions, as well as activating the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to criminalize contempt of religions.
