As part of its lecture series held during the holy month of Ramadan, The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) hosted Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed, a lecturer in Swahili and Islamic Education at Kenyatta University, Kenya. During the virtual lecture, titled “Ramadan: A Season of Sincere Return to Allah,” he emphasized that the month of Ramadan represents a golden opportunity for Muslims to seize its days by increasing their piety and devotion to Allah Almighty.
At the outset of his talk, Sheikh Hamdan stated that Allah Almighty is the Most Forgiving and Most Merciful, who forgives sins and accepts and responds to supplications. He stressed that the Holy Quran serves as a light and a comprehensive guide that directs Muslims toward the straight path.
He pointed out that Ramadan is a month of generosity in which rewards are multiplied and the believer is elevated to the highest ranks. It is a month of repentance, forgiveness, and salvation from the Hellfire, uniquely characterized by the acceptance of prayers, as Allah the Almighty is near and responds to the call of those who supplicate to Him.
Sheikh Hamdan also called for investing this holy month in acts of generosity and kindness, urging Muslims to increase their good deeds to attain multiplied rewards. He concluded that commitment to righteous deeds is the fundamental pillar for spiritual elevation and achieving success in both this world and the hereafter during this blessed month.
