TWMCC Chairman Meets CPC Secretary in Xinjiang

HE Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC), met with HE Chen Xiaojiang, Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on the sidelines of the 3rd International Seminar on Counter-Terrorism and Extremism, hosted in Urumqi with the participation of officials, policymakers, and researchers from over 25 countries.


During the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of enhancing international cooperation in addressing one of the most pressing global challenges—terrorism and extremism—affirming that dialogue, coexistence, and cultural and religious communication are fundamental pillars for achieving global security and stability.


HE Dr Al Nuaimi praised China’s experience in Xinjiang and the achievements in comprehensive development and safeguarding cultural and religious diversity. He commended the Chinese government’s efforts in promoting coexistence and social peace. He further affirmed that the TWMCC places special priority on expanding partnerships with Chinese intellectual, academic, and religious institutions to strengthen bridges of cooperation and mutual understanding.


For his part, HE Chen Xiaojiang expressed gratitude and appreciation to the UAE and the TWMCC for their sincere efforts to foster civilisational dialogue and cultural exchange with China. He noted that such initiatives reflect the depth of bilateral relations and contribute to consolidating the values of moderation and openness. This meeting was part of the TWMCC delegation’s visit to Xinjiang, which included participation in the international seminar sessions, as well as field visits to educational, religious, and cultural institutions to observe China’s experiences and initiatives in countering extremism, spreading coexistence, and promoting tolerance, stability, and development.
