TWMCC Strongly Condemns the Terrorist Bombing of a Church in Syria
- 2025-Jun-23
The World Muslim Communities Council strongly condemned the heinous terrorist bombing that targeted the Mar Elias Church in Damascus, which resulted in a number of innocent victims being killed and injured.
TWMCC emphasises that targeting places of worship and attacking innocent people is a flagrant violation of all religious values and humanitarian principles, and undermines the foundations of co-existence that religions work to consolidate.
While expressing its full solidarity with the families of the victims, TWMCC reiterates its firm stance in rejecting all forms of extremism and violence, and reiterates its constant call for promoting a culture of dialogue, consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence, and criminalising hate speech as the only way to achieve security and stability in societies.
TWMCC extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, and praying that God protects Syria and its people from all harm.
