The World Muslim Communities Council held an online Ramadan lecture, titled 'Ramadan is a Golden Opportunity for Muslims', delivered by Sheikh Hamdan Muhammad, Professor of the Swahili Language and Islamic Religious Education - Kenyatta University, Kenya.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that with the advent of the month of Ramadan, we are asked the important question: 'Will I change this month and be a better Muslim?'; adding that Ramadan is the month of reciting the Qur'an, and this is what Allah Almighty commanded in His Mighty Book, and it is the month in which Allah Almighty revealed the Holy Qur'an.

'The Holy Qur'an is a light and a guide that guides us; the best people are those who read it. We must read it constantly', the Sheikh noted.

Sheikh Hamdan pointed out that Ramadan is the month of repentance and forgiveness, as the Prophet (PBUH) told us, and it is the month of answering prayers. It is also a great opportunity and blessed moment that a Muslim must take advantage of to return to Allah.

The Sheikh indicated that whoever does not fast Ramadan without justification, deliberately neglects a basic pillar of Islam, and thus, his Islam is incomplete.

The World Muslim Communities Council is an international non-governmental organization that functions as a think tank. It supports Muslim community organizations and associations by helping them improve operations, collaborate effectively, and adopt innovative approaches.
