TWMCC Chairman Receives Egypt's Grand Mufti in Abu Dhabi
HE Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC), received His Honorable Dr Shawki Allam, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Both sides explored ways to enhance and consolidate relations, they also discussed common issues and future cooperation projects between the Council and the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities, as well as spreading the values of peace, tolerance, coexistence, humanity and brotherhood, in a way that serves Muslims around the world and all humanity.
They also discussed ways to formulate scientific, academic and rehabilitation programmes to confront extremism and isolationism, through hard work, to achieve contemporary jurisprudence within the tolerant Islamic Sharia, and in line with the conditions of the people of Muslim communities in countries they live in, as well as seeking to enhance the positive role of Muslims around the world.
HE Dr Ali Al Nuaimi welcomed the visit of His Honorable the Mufti, where he briefed him on the Council’s programmes and activities and its role in enabling Muslim communities to integrate positively into their countries, to achieve harmony between commitment to religion and belonging to the homeland. HE stressed that the Council looks forward to further cooperation with the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities, praising its successful organisation and hosting of the Secretariat's 8th global conference, which was held last October in Cairo under the title "Fatwa and the Challenges of the Third Millennium".
